Global Investor Challenge- Final Pitch

200 Irish and International Startups came to Cork this week to compete for a €50k prize fund and the title of Most Investable Global Startup. We are so proud that FruitCubed got all the way to the final, through the gruelling 3-day contest and has come home with a joint second prize. The final of the competition was held as a joint celebration with the Start-Up Summit, giving the final three companies a chance to pitch in front of 400 delegates from 25 countries. An opportunity so great, we can hardly get our head around it.

The event was conceived back in February when the Prime Minister of Ireland, Enda Kenny announced that that Ireland had won a global competitive bid to co-host an international gathering of entrepreneurs and policy makers. Up to 400 foreign delegates would come to Cork for the Startup Nations Summit from November 18th to 20th for a weekend full of events and talks hosted by various Entrepreneurial agencies.

Hosting the Startup Nations Summit in Cork ensured that the eyes of the entrepreneurial world were on our city this week. The Summit is the cornerstone of the Global Entrepreneurship Week which takes place in 180 countries in November. The summit served as the official conclusion of Global Entrepreneurship Week, a collection of 30,000 events with 10 million participants in 160  countries.
